Subhadip is the 36th descendant of the Zamindars of Calcutta, Sabarna Roy Chowdhury family (1608-1757). After studying in Ballygunge Government High School, he studied history in Scottish Church College in North Kolkata.
Being
Somananda
Subhadip was initiated into the Maa Baglamukhi mantra, and the path of spiritual practice began. Having reached the final stage of his sadhana, Somanand Nath felt that he was ready to realize the purpose of Sadhak Basudev, and at that time he very briefly created the Baglamukhi Matri Mission.

With the blessings of Maa Bagalamukhi and our Jagatguru Sri Srimad Baba Basudeb Paramhansa, we are committed to reach the name of our Mahadevi Maa Bagalamukhi to all the spiritual seekers and devotees of Mahamaya. With the same aim Somanandanath established the organization named Bagalamukhi Matri Mission to discourse the name of holy Mother.

With the divine blessings of Maa Bagalamukhi and our revered Jagatguru, Sri Srimad Baba Basudeb Paramhansa, we remain deeply committed to spreading the sacred name and glory of Mahadevi Maa Bagalamukhi among all spiritual seekers and devotees of the Divine Mother Mahamaya.
Jagatguru Basudeb Paramhansa envisioned a world where Maa Bagalamukhi would be worshipped by devotees from every path of life — whether householders (Grihasthas) or renunciates. In alignment with that divine vision, Sadhak Somananda established the Bagalamukhi Matri Mission, an organization dedicated to sharing the teachings, devotion, and grace of the Holy Mother with all.
Our mission is rooted in the spirit of Sarva-Dharma Samannaya — the harmony of all faiths. We do not discriminate or mislead any devotee; for in truth, any heart filled with devotion can worship our Mother.
Maa Bagalamukhi is none other than the embodiment of the Supreme Absolute — Sakshat Parabrahmaswarupa.
We draw inspiration from the divine lives and philosophies of Sri Sri Thakur Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Baba Lokenath, and Baba Basudeb Paramhansa. As humble devotees of the Mother, we believe in Love, Peace, Harmony, and the eternal bond of devotion that unites all souls under Her compassionate gaze.
With unwavering faith, we are devoted to the Bhava Prachar — the spiritual propagation and awakening — of our Holy Mother, Bagalamukhi Devi.
Guided by the luminous path of our Jagatguru Sri Srimad Basudeb Paramhansa Ji, we continue to walk toward enlightenment — spreading the message of divine love, peace, and harmony that flows from the heart of the Mother herself.
